Class Attire
What to expect
What to expect

Within learning classic styles of dance, appropriate dance attire is imperative to the simplicity, technique, and safety of each art form. Uniforms and dress codes are required in order to see proper lines, as well as help dancers develop the discipline required of a fine dancer. In helping us achieve proper respect for the art, we ask that parents please help their children adhere to our dress codes and policies.

In the beginning of the year, teachers will remind dancers about dress codes, help with proper buns, etc; if more than two reminders have to be given after that – the parent may be contacted and/or the dancers may be asked to sit out of class.

Ballet
  • Girls: pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes, and proper leotard from Cinnamon Tree Dance Shop.

  • Leotard Colors: (Non AP & Pre AP 1-AP 4/5 must be purchased from Cinnamon Tree Dance Shop to ensure the correct brand & style).

– Pre Ap: Midnight Blue
– Ap 1: Lilac
– Ap 2: Burgundy
– Ap 3/4: Navy
–  AP 4/5: Black

  • Girls’ hair must be in a classic bun, secured tightly with a bun maker, bobby pins, hairnet and hairspray. Any bangs should be pinned up, and hair should be free of flyaways. A tight bun is particularly important for turning, and hair/pins that are loose are disruptive to the learning process.
  • Boys: Black tights or form-fitting shorts, fitted white T-Shirt tucked in, black ballet shoes. Hair should be neatly combed back and secured.
  • Absolutely no jewelry allowed in class.
  • No extra clothing (sweatshirts, warm ups, shorts, skirts etc) may be worn inside the ballet room. Please walk into the room in your uniform only.
